Gao Xueting, deputy general manager of China Classification Society Qingdao Branch, presented to Zichai Power Co., Ltd. issued the first type approval certificate and product certificate for methanol/diesel dual-fuel marine engines in China, and issued the first domestic methanol/diesel dual-fuel 10,000-ton electric propulsion bulk cargo ship to National Ocean Shipping (Wuhan) Co., Ltd. The marine engine certificate marks that China's own brand of low-carbon and environmentally friendly methanol marine engines has achieved zero breakthrough and been industrialized.
Xin Qiangzhi, deputy general manager and chief engineer of Zichai Power Co., Ltd., said that Zichai Power Co., Ltd. has started researching key technologies for methanol/diesel dual-fuel engines since 2017. With the joint efforts of Tianjin University and other universities and institutions, related parts and components manufacturers and With the full support and careful guidance of China Classification Society Qingdao Branch, Wuhan Standardization Research Institute and other competent authorities, we successfully independently developed the first methanol/diesel dual-fuel engine in China, with a bore of 180mm, a power of 880kW, a maximum replacement rate of 76%, and an average The replacement rate reaches more than 50%. According to the appraisal organized by the China Machinery Industry Federation, the relevant technology has reached the international leading level. Based on this, Zichai Company has carried out in-depth research on key technologies for the application of low/zero carbon fuels such as methanol and ammonia in high-power marine engines.
Under the background of the country's "dual carbon goals", various main engine manufacturers have deployed methanol fuel engines. This time, the China Classification Society issued the first domestic methanol/diesel dual fuel engine type approval certificate to Zichai Power Co., Ltd.
